Unseen Fields, by Thomas Plemmons

Unseen Fields written by Thomas Plemmons in 2025 and he is the copyright holder of the book. Published through Kindle Direct Publishing.

This is a book that should have been written years ago. It delves into the world of missionaries, missionary wives and their children.

Many missionary kids that come back to the States after being on a foreign field have problems assimilating to the new culture. One they are not used to and have not been a part of most of their lives.

Thomas asks the tough questions concerning is our method of sending missionaries off in the first place? What about the missionary wife that is all alone and has no other women to talk to about the ministry? What will the family face when they go to a foreign field? New language? Will the children have to go to a state school, because they are not allowed to homeschool the country they have been called to?
These questions and many others are posed.

Thomas methodically answers each one of them and uses scripture to back up his answers. The book is based off the author’s own experience with this and seeks to give advice and encouragement to pastors and their churches in helping the missionary family. He also opens his heart to his own struggles that he faced when coming back to the States from having been in Germany 10 years.

The book is well written. Thomas gives ideas and thought-provoking plans that can be implemented in any New Testament Church willing to step out and help the Missionary Kid when they come off the field. To not only just support the missionary family financially or with prayer but make them apart of the church
family even more so as they are a part of that local church.

The book even expresses some very daring ideas that would cause traditionalist to
scream, “Aaaaaahhhhhhh!”

What if churches have been doing it wrong? Quite possibly it's time for change. That is the reason for the book.

I believe there are several bible verses that could have been included that would have supported this subject matter very strongly.

Great quick read. I recommend this book for every Christian. It will guide you to think outside the box concerning missions.
